We are pleased to share with you the Masterpieces of the Orchestra class offered at OSU’s spring term 2020. The course reviewed several well-known pieces from the classical symphony repertoire, with discussion and information about the historical context for each piece along with selections demonstrating particular aspects of the music. Instructors were Dr. Marlan Carlson, OSU professor of music, Otwell Endowed Chair for University Orchestras and music director of the Corvallis-OSU Symphony Orchestra, and Ellie Phillips, OSU junior music performance major.
The instructors and the symphony society board welcome your comments about the class, including ideas for improving such Zoom classes in the future. Please send your feedback. Be as honest as you’d like; comments will be compiled and shared with the instructors anonymously. Thank you for your interest!
